Youth Ministry

Message from our Youth Leaders

Here at Plum Grove Baptist Church, we see our young people as one of the most important parts of our church. As a church, we prayerfully engage young people in the hopes to help them incorporate their faith in God into their daily lives. Our goal is to give them a strong sense of faith, self, and community. By doing this we help them commune with God in a deeper way and become the men and women they were created to be. At Lighthouse Student Ministry our motto is Health Over Hype.

  • Healthy Study of the Word of God

  • Healthy Understanding of the Word of God

  • Healthy Application of the Word of God

  • Engaging in holistic and meaningful outreach and missions

As you can see, we want our youth to become God-fearing disciples that can boldly witness to others through knowledge of the word of God. As youth leaders, we want you to know that we are all on a journey of discovering and deepening our understanding and practice of spiritual disciplines. It is our prayer that you will allow us the opportunity to pour into your young person or labor with us to impact the lives of young people.

For Christ’s gain,
Taylor & Travis Jenkins

Lighthouse Youth 4th-12th grade

Lighthouse Youth meet weekly during the Wednesday night bible study to dive into God’s Word in an attempt to become better student’s of the Word so that they may become better servants of Christ. Weekly lessons address the myriad of topics surrounding youth and teens today in a context that they can understand and apply. The centrality of scripture is paramount to Lighthouse Youth events and activity. Small groups, missions, evangelism opportunities and community service projects also give opportunity for relationship building and strengthening the body of Christ as a whole.

Light Bulbs (pre-k – 3rd grade)

Lightbulb instructors follow specific curriculum where children are equipped by firmly rooting them in God’s Word.  They will learn basic Bible truths and explore the Bible from creation to the early church.  Children will discover that God calls His people to Himself through Christ and wants them to trust and follow Him.  In this class, children will study the Bible through lessons, crafts and learning activities, as well as provide unstructured play time.
